Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 52

Another day revolving around a car, so not much time spent on my aromatherapy business. I did deliver an order of “Lavender Air, Body & Linen Spritz.”  I surprised her with a gift of my freshly made “Healing Bath, Feet & Shower Salts” scented with lavender. I also gave her a KureAll Skin Balm to give to her mother. This lady is a very good customer, so it makes me feel good to give gifts to people who appreciate Ashley’s Back to Nature products and spend their hard earned cash with me.

I mailed the order I got from my website yesterday, sent her a gift of salts as well. Then I put labels on products I recently made. What I really need to be doing is working on how to get people to my website so they can buy my natural and organic products. For me, that’s drudge work and I can’t seem to make myself do what I truly need to be doing to grow this biz. The main reason is because I’m not sure how and when I start researching search engine optimization and things of that nature, I get bored quickly and don’t comprehend what I’m reading. I’d rather be making and whiffing perfume oils.

I’d be willing to pay someone knowledgeable to help me, but how does one find that person? I’ve tried a few times and have been disappointed. I don’t have money to throw away. I need results that will get mass amounts of people to my website. Any suggestions from anyone who may be reading this blog?

Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 42

Have a Fun and Safe New Years Eve!

My party was putting labels on my “Rosehip Face Serum” and “Peace & Tranquility Perfume Oil.” The labels gave me a hard time, but I kept going until they were perfect. I was delighted to be able to put an image of a rosehip seed flower on the top of my serum jar.  People like images  and will be more drawn to the serum because of the the pretty photo. Yee hii!

Whenever I set up at shows to sell my natural and organic aromatherapy skincare products, The first thing most people ask me about is the “KureAll Skin Balm” because of the golden color of the balm (photo above). When I tell them what all the balm does, a good majority of them buy. A 1/2 oz. jar  is only $5 and will last a long time. It’s great for so many skin disorders, especially itchy, chapped skin. It’s been a life saver for me. It will be a household name one day.

Today while I was talking with an ex-boyfriend of over 20 years ago, Michael, I made a big jar of “Healing Bath, Feet and Shower Salts” scented with peppermint and pine essential oils. The salts contain 84 trace minerals that take toxins from your skin, relax the nervous system, improve circulation, among other things while your laying in a tub of warm water. You can also soak your feet, helps bring down swelling or you can exfoliate dry, dead skin in the shower. The salts are very healing.

I searched from some nice boxes to put my aromatherapy “First Aid Kit for the Winter” that will greatly help with dry, itchy, chapped skin… found nothing. Will continue searching.

Need to get out and make some sales next week since this past week I didn’t hit the streets. A lot of businesses are closed until January 3rd. Instead of making money, I spent money on my laser printer that’s suppose to print labels that won’t smudge or smear. We’ll see.

Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 37

I will be so glad when everything gets back to semi-normal again and I can go out and sell my lovely aromatherapy products that nourish and heal.

After taking photos today of my First Aid Kit for the Winter, I put it on my website. When I go to view my website on Foxfire, everything is just how I designed the pages. When I view through internet explorer, it’s a disaster. The paypal buttons are on top of the text and everything is out of order. I looked a few minutes ago through internet explorer and my First Aid Kit wasn’t even showing yet and my product pages were still a jumbled mess. Yet when I veiw through Foxfire, walla, there is the First Aid Kit. Does anyone reading this blog have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? I called the folks I built my website through, they are clueless. They blamed it on the internet explorer because they didn’t want to be bothered. Their customer services skills are lacking.

Below is  the ad for my First Aid Kit for the Winter I designed today.

This 4 piece aromatherapy kit will make it much more comfortable for you to get through a long, cold winter.

Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 35

It was a choice of either selling my aromatherapy goods in “The Field of Mud” or “Becker’s Flea Market” on the morning of Christmas eve. The advantage of selling in The Field of Mud is it’s free and there is more foot traffic because of higher visibility. The disadvantage is the mud, having to use an outhouse and no structure. When I drove by, it was even muddier than normal because of all the recent heavy rain, so I decided to set-up at Becker’s. I did fairly well considering there wasn’t much foot traffic. I prefer going to a bathroom where I can flush the toilet and my shoes aren’t soaked in mud.

Now it’s time to really think inside the box because people will have the same after Christmas excuses. No money. The thing is, people get colds in the winter, so my “Breathe Easy” is a must because the eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils open your nasal passages if you’re all stuffed up and/or congested. The “KureAll Skin Balm” is great for dry, chapped lips among many other things and the “Whipped Creme Body Butter Lotion” is excellent for skin that tends to be dryer in the winter. Of course, you’ve got to have some “Smooth as Silk Face Moisturizer” for a wind chapped face. I just thought of it, I’ll make an aromatherapy “Winter First Aid Kit” with all the above items. I’m such a wiz.

What would I do without myself?

Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 30

Today I was a busy bee, putting in a 14 hour work day, trying to play catch up for the lost weekend. I woke up to an aromatherapy skincare order from my website, so that got my day off to a nice jump out of bed. After the coffee and some fresh pineapple, I made 48 jars of KureAll Skin Balm.

I then proceeded to package the internet order and take it to the post office. When I got to the counter to pay, she asked me the usual mega amount of annoying questions, although I told her upfront in a nice tone of voice “I want to mail this package without any extras for the least amount of money” but she still rattled all those questions wanting me to spend more money. So annoying. Then she has an attitude.

After coming home from the post office, I made jars of Whipped Creme Body Butter Lotion, Smooth as Silk Face Moisturizer, Rosehip Regenerating Face Serum and refilled a few bottles and jars of skincare products for my own personal use. I love my products. I then put together a package for my daughter Ashley for Christmas. Can’t wait to see the lovely lady at the post office when I go to mail the package tomorrow.

My face has really firmed up nicely since using the Rosehip Regenerating Face Serum. Great for my vanity. Check this out, the definition for Rosehip  seed oil is: An oil that heals and regenerates the skin, helping to counteract aging. It’s a rich source of omega 3 & 6 fatty acids and anti-oxidant properties, helping with fine lines, wrinkles and firming the face. It is clinically proven to reduce scarring, wrinkles and condition the skin. It is excellent for treatment of eczema, psoriasis and chapped skin and aiding in the reduction of redness. The oil has a botanical extract of rose petals found to have high concentrations of vitamin C.

Back to my 14 hour busy bee day…. after making the products, I had to print the labels and then put the labels on each and every bottle and jar. I pushed myself to the limit and decided it’s time to stop, write my daily blog, catch a little of Piers Morgan and The Joy Behar Show, then bed.

I was going to pack my purple carrying case for my day out in the streets tomorrow, but decided I was just too dog tired.

I look forward to hearing from some of you folks with your comments, questions or whatever.

Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 29

Well… I’m back in the house and out of the Ramada Inn. Living here is one of the sacrafices I have to make in order to grow Ashley’s Back to Nature into financial stability and eventually being able to offer non slackers, non bullies, creative thinking type people jobs.

When I came home today and walked downstairs, my dad greeted me. What I saw was a face oozing with sadness and I felt immediate compassion for him. He had horrible parents and it trickles down from one generation to the next. I just don’t like being his scapegoat.

I had so many good intentions for the biz over these lost 4 days… like making 50 or more jars of the “KureAll Skin Balm,” working on my website and setting up at Becker’s Flea Market on Saturday. None of these things happened and I’m too exhausted to do much right now. Tomorrow is another day.

I wish it was possible to write a positive blog every single day of the year, but I’m not one of those  people who can act all bright and cheery and pretend everything is okay when it’s not. Some people don’t like it, especially when the taboo subject of “mental illness” comes up, but I just happen to be one of those people who tells it like it is.

Let’s face it, there are a lot of people with mental disorders walking around. Why do you think pharmaceutical companies make billions of dollars yearly selling drugs like Prozac? I’ll admit it, I’ve got a few disorders myself but I won’t buy into the pharmaceutical craziness. I liken most of them to legalized drug dealers. I know there are drugs that help people get better and saves lives, but when I see people taking 6-7-8 drugs for one disorder and they’re walking around like a zombie, I have to question what is going on here?

What I can do is pick myself up and continue to work smart and hard to turn Ashley’s Back to Nature into a thriving, eco friendly business, offering mostly natural and organic skincare products at affordable prices so most everyone can reap the benefits.

I did come home to a check today from a client who ordered four jars of my “Achy Foot Repair Cream” last week, so that’s good. And just as I was proofing this post, I received a phone call from a new customer who loves my products and wants more, so that makes me very happy. See, things are turning around. Yeah!

Out in the Streets with Ashley’s Back to Nature Day 25

Today I headed to Helen, GA to sell my handcrafted Ashley’s Back to Nature aromatherapy products. It was pretty quiet in Helen, but I did manage to sell enough to make it worth my while.

It’s amazing the skin disorders people will show me when I pull out and start talking about my KureAll Skin Balm that heals so many various skin disorders. Sometimes I’m compelled to cover my eyes because of how painful it looks on their skin. I can feel their pain. I always put a dab of the KureAll onto their fingertips for them to rub on their affected area/s.

I sold a Breathe Easy Kit today which included a Eucalyptus Air Freshener, Healing Bath, Feet & Shower Salts scented with eucalyptus and a Breathe Easy oil which clears stuffiness and is scented with eucalyptus and peppermint. The eucalyptus will open up your nasal passages, so it comes in handy when you’re having a hard time breathing. I sold a few more Whipped Creme Body Butter Lotions, some KureAll Skin Balms and a Pick-Me-Up Energizer & Headache relief with peppermint and lavender essential oils.

I stopped off at Betty’s Country store and purchased some fried green peas to snack on while I watch the X Factor tonight. I want to watch the Barbara Walters special, but I may boycott Barbara since she’s interviewing the Kardashians. I think they are such a disgrace to the human race and set a horrible example to teenagers.

I took this photo tonight as the sun was setting.
